Do I need an AHC to take my dog to Europe?
For many non-commercial journeys from the United Kingdom to the EU, dogs, cats and ferrets require an Animal Health Certificate unless another valid travel-document route applies. We confirm your pet’s individual requirements before issuing the certificate.
How much does an AHC cost?
A standard Animal Health Certificate is £140. Urgent appointments are £180, subject to availability. Additional eligible pets are £30 each.
How soon before travel should I book an AHC?
Contact us as early as possible. The certificate has specific validity rules, while your pet must already meet the relevant microchip and rabies vaccination requirements before it can be issued.
What happens if I need an AHC urgently?
We offer an Urgent AHC Service for £180, subject to veterinary availability and your pet already meeting the travel requirements.
What is the difference between an AHC and EHC?
An Animal Health Certificate is typically used for qualifying non-commercial pet travel from the United Kingdom to the EU. An Export Health Certificate is a destination-specific veterinary certificate used for exports where the importing country requires one.
How early should I start preparing for Australia?
Ideally at least six months before travel, and often earlier. Australia has strict sequencing and timing requirements, so early planning is strongly recommended.
